In 2019, Prince Archie was born with the full name Archibald Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Historian Robert Lacey recently reminded everyone that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are still keeping one big secret about their son. They haven’t told anyone who they picked as godparents for Archie, which is surprising since royal traditions usually involve sharing such details.
Lacey pointed out that Harry and Meghan didn’t follow many royal customs. For example, when Archie was born at St Mary’s Hospital, Meghan didn’t pose for photos like Kate Middleton did with her kids. This made people wonder when and where Archie was actually born.
Additionally, the couple refused to reveal the names of Archie’s godparents. Normally, the palace and the public expect to know who these important people are. Lacey questioned how we can judge if someone is a good godparent if we don’t even know who they are!
Even though Harry and Meghan never officially announced Archie’s godparents, there have been rumors about possible choices like the Duke of Westminster or Tiggy Pettifer, who was Harry’s nanny. For their second child, Lilibet (or Lili), they chose Tyler Perry as her godfather. In their Netflix docu-series, Perry talked about how honored he felt when asked by the couple.
Fans think it’s nice that they keep some things private.

Perry did have some concerns about the ceremony itself though. He wasn’t too keen on doing a big church event and suggested maybe just having a small private ceremony instead.
“Oh wait,” he said during their show, “Does this mean I need to go over there and do all that in a church? Maybe we can have a simple private one here.” 🤷
We can’t help but be curious about these little mysteries!
