Hollywood, podcasting, and wine—they’ve done it all, but now Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are stepping into the sports arena.
At the Dolby Theatre in LA on Thursday night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wowed everyone at the 2024 ESPY Awards.
In a sleek white halter dress with ruching and black strappy heels, Markle coordinated perfectly with Harry’s black suit and skinny silk tie. Inside, they shared a sweet moment as Markle placed her ring-adorned hand on Harry’s knee while they smiled for photos.
Harry is being celebrated with the Pat Tillman Award for Service for his dedication to helping others both inside and outside of sports. This award is named after Pat Tillman, an NFL legend who also served as a U.S. Army Ranger.
Serena Williams hosted the event tonight; she attended Harry and Meghan’s wedding back in 2018. Serena couldn’t help but joke about her royal friends during her opening speech: “I don’t often get to be around actual royalty,” she said playfully. “Prince Harry and Meghan are here—let’s give them a round of applause.”
“But please, try not to breathe too much tonight,” Serena quipped further, “This is my night!”
