Madonna’s Rare Red Carpet Appearance With Kids

The red carpet for the Deadpool & Wolverine premiere was buzzing last night with Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid stealing the spotlight from Ryan Reynolds.

Madonna also showed up with her children, creating a rare and sweet family moment. Her twins, Estere and Stella, joined her in photos with Hugh Jackman, Reynolds, and director Shawn Levy. Madonna rocked an all-black outfit while her kids kept it comfy in casual wear. She adopted the twins in 2017 when they were 5 years old; she also has four other kids: Mercy James, David Banda, Lourdes, and Rocco.

Marvel’s X account had fun with Madonna’s iconic song “Like a Prayer,” posting “Down on our knees” after the event. That song is featured prominently in both the film and its trailers.

Reynolds explained how he convinced Madonna to let them use “Like a Prayer” in the movie. It wasn’t easy; he actually had to meet up with her to make his case.

“Madonna doesn’t just license that song,” Reynolds said during a SiriusXM Town Hall. “It was huge to get permission… We met her and showed why we needed it.”

Fans think it’s really cool how Ryan got such an iconic track for the film.

Reynolds added that meeting Madonna was one of the biggest thrills of his life.

He even joked about how he nervously asked someone if he could just say “Hello, Madonna?” or should introduce himself as “I’m freaking Ryan.”
