Emily Blunt Teases Devil Wears Prada Sequel

Emily Blunt is finally opening up about returning as Emily Charlton in the sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.

In a chat with People, Blunt said the excitement around the new movie is “cool,” and she already has ideas for her character’s look when she’s back in those high heels. Puck News revealed earlier this summer that Aline Brosh McKenna has been busy writing the much-awaited follow-up to the popular 2006 film.

“Oh my god, I can’t tell you anything,” Blunt laughed, staying mum on the plot but sharing her wish for some killer eye makeup for Emily Charlton.

She also joked about one of her famous lines, saying she wouldn’t mind catching a quick stomach flu: “I’m hoping for that,” she chuckled.

Bustle reported that “the sequel will follow Miranda Priestly trying to keep Runway magazine afloat in the digital age,” while Emily Charlton returns as a top advertising exec instead of being Miranda’s worn-out assistant.

Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Stanley Tucci are set to come back too, playing Andrea Sachs, Miranda Priestly, and Nigel once more.

Sometimes we think sequels aren’t necessary; they can make us forget how special the original was.

Blunt pondered over this earlier in an episode of “Happy Sad Confused,” saying she’d be okay if a sequel never happened because some things should just stay special and untouched.

Back in 2008, she told People she almost hopes there isn’t a sequel because redoing everything might ruin what made the first movie so unique. 🎥
