Demi Moore’s Stunning Red Plunging Dress

Millennials probably remember the beginning of Beauty and the Beast with its magical, twinkling music and stained glass visuals showing the Beast’s curse.

At the Los Angeles premiere of her film, The Substance, Demi Moore wore a gorgeous red dress that looked just like the rose from Beauty and the Beast. The Oscar de la Renta gown was strapless and plunging, decorated with red tiles and sequins. She paired it with diamond jewelry and styled her hair in soft waves.

Margaret Qualley joined her on the red carpet, along with Demi’s daughters: Rumer, Talulah, and Scout Willis.

Moore has been switching between two fashion styles for her movie promotions—elegant red gowns and sharp menswear looks. Luckily, these outfits don’t seem to be linked to any intense method acting; they just reflect colors from the film—mainly a deep red.

The Substance is a creepy body horror movie that dives into society’s obsession with beauty and aging. Moore plays Elizabeth Sparkle, an older actress who uses a black market drug when her career starts fading. This drug creates Sue (Qualley), a younger version of Elizabeth who can experience success again.

We think it’s so relatable how movies can touch on real-life issues like this.

In an interview with The Guardian, Moore said the movie examines how society treats women based on how they look. Having struggled with an eating disorder herself earlier in life, she found this role very personal. “What I did to myself,” she reflected about those times. “How cruel we can be to ourselves.” She emphasized that if we believe our worth is only in our looks, it will eventually destroy us.
