Camilla Urged King Charles to Hide Cancer

Earlier this year, King Charles III revealed he had cancer in a bold and unexpected move.

Queen Camilla didn’t want him to share the news, but Charles felt it was important to lead by example, hoping it would encourage others with similar symptoms to get checked out. Robert Jobson, who wrote about Charles in 2023 and is working on a book about Catherine, talked about their disagreement with The Independent.

“Camilla was initially against it,” said Jobson. “But the King wanted to use his experience to inspire other men to see their doctors early.” Earlier this year, Charles received treatment for an enlarged prostate and found out he had cancer. He shared the news on February 5, 2024.

The palace then clarified that Charles doesn’t have prostate cancer but didn’t give more details. After his announcement, there was a huge spike in people looking up prostate health on the NHS website.

Jobson mentioned that visits to the NHS England page about benign prostate enlargement skyrocketed from an average of 1,400 daily visits to over 26,000 in just two days following Charles’s announcement.

We think this really showed how much people trust the royal family now when they talk about personal health issues.
